The Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex is a vast area in the Prairies and Lakes region of Texas. With an estimated 2015 population of 7.1 million, it stands as the most populous metropolitan area in Texas and the South, and the fourth most populous in the United States. This dynamic region encompasses 11 counties and includes historically dominant core cities such as Dallas and Fort Worth.

University Park, a predominantly residential community of more than 25,000 residents, is located approximately five miles north of downtown Dallas, Texas. It’s known for its attractive homes, beautiful parks, and numerous churches. The city is home to Southern Methodist University (SMU) and the George W. Bush Presidential Center1. Like its slightly older, wealthier sibling directly to the south, Highland Park, University Park boasts upscale advantages. Residents enjoy convenient access to major highways like Northwest Highway, the Dallas North Tollway, and U.S. Highway 75, making the rest of Dallas easily reachable. Locals also appreciate the charming Snider Plaza, a community asset with unique shops and restaurants, although parking there can be a challenge.

southlake

Southlake, Texas is a city located predominantly in Tarrant County, with minor areas extending into Denton County. As a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth, it offers a mix of rural charm and modern amenities. The area was settled in the 1840s and officially incorporated as Southlake in 1956. Proximity to DFW International Airport led to growth throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.  Residents enjoy a blend of natural beauty, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.

Plano, Texas is an affluent city located mostly within Collin County, approximately 16 miles northeast of Dallas. With a population of 285,494 as of the 2020 census, it ranks as the ninth most populous city in Texas and the 73rd most populous city in the United States. Plano is a significant part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and home to major companies like Frito Lay, JCPenney, and Pizza Hut. Known for its economic vitality, safety, and quality of life, Plano continues to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.

The Hockaday neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, is a well-maintained, family-friendly area known for its beautiful tree-lined streets. It features primarily large (four, five or more bedroom) to medium-sized (three or four bedroom) single-family homes and townhomes, with most of the residential real estate being owner-occupied. Residents appreciate the strong sense of community and the convenience of nearby amenities.

Preston Hollow, a neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, is home to many affluent residents, including a former U.S. president. While some of its streets feature modest ranch-style homes, the area is also known for its expansive estates, some of which are among the most expensive in Dallas. It sits approximately 25 miles from both Dallas Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. With a population of 200,509 according to the 2020 U.S. census, Frisco has experienced rapid growth, earning the title of the fastest-growing city in the United States in 2017. Known for its serene atmosphere, scenic views, and proximity to major airports, Frisco continues to thrive as a desirable community for professionals in the DFW area.

Uptown is a dense, upscale neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. It lies north of and adjacent to downtown Dallas, bordered by US 75 to the east, N Haskell Avenue to the northeast, the Katy Trail to the northwest, Bookhout Street and Cedar Springs Road to the west, N Akard Street to the southwest, and Spur 366 to the south. Known for its walkability, Uptown features trendy bars, restaurants, and upscale apartments. The McKinney Avenue Trolley offers free rides, and the popular West Village development houses apartments, eateries, bars, and a boutique movie theater.
